Habitat For Humanity
Founded: Habitat, headquartered in Americus, Georgia, was founded in 1976. Since then, more than 500,000 homes have been dedicated worldwide. More significantly, these houses represent decent, affordable shelter for more than one million Habitat family members. Local Habitat affiliates, such as Knox County, support Habitat International by tithing, which in turn, helps fund the worldwide building program. They can be contacted at:

As we move into 2014, Habitat for Humanity of Knox County has some exciting opportunities before us.
We started building this spring on the lot adjacent to the house pictured here on Cottage Street in Mount Vernon. We welcome volunteers who would like to work on this house and make a dream come true for a deserving family. Please fill out the volunteer interest form and someone will contact you.
