If you love prowling the aisles at Home Depot, enjoy fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials while supporting adequate housing, the ReStore needs you. Sales, display, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are completely volunteer efforts. With no paid staff, the ReStore can use your help. Be part of HFHKC's premier recycler of new and used building materials, tools and appliances. Call (740) 393-1434, or just dress down and drop by the store, to get involved. The ReStore is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops. Call us at (740) 393-1434 for more information.

Volunteers clean donations, set up displays, help customers . . . and anything else that needs doing!

While the Habitat ReStore sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects like its product selection, variability, etc. Some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in may include, but are not limited to:

  • pricing
  • maintenance of the store
  • organization of merchandise
  • inventory (twice a year)
  • receiving (unloading and loading donated materials and merchandise)
  • truck runs
  • data entry
  • promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)

If you would like to volunteer with us, please complete the online Registration & Orientation first, then send the ReStore an email and let us know what you would like to help us out with.

Your contributions are welcome . . . and needed. Pickup of items is available, and every donation helps toward providing adequate housing to those in need.

Donated Building materials

helps those in need twice.

The Habitat For Humanity of Knox County Ohio ReStore needs your donations.........of almost any items you take out of your home. Especially needed are doors, windows, cabinets (kitchen or other) and working appliances ( 10 years or less). But any building or remodeling material that's in good shape can be recycled through the ReStore, saving you dumping costs and providing a tax deduction as well. Equally important, your donations will go back into the community to help people who are upgrading their homes. The ReStore resells your new or used items (as well as corporate donations) for 50% to 70% off retail prices. All operating profits from ReStore sales go into Habitat's building program, helping provide adequate housing for Mount Vernon families.
ReStore does provide donation pickup services once a week when scheduled in advance. Please contact the store on Friday or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for more information. 740-485-2194.
