Three of my favorite people!!! Left to right, Tom Wilks, Board Treasurer, Mike Flora, ReStore Manager and Patty Flora, Mike's lovely wife. This picture was taken at the Chamber of Commerce Awards dinner in January where Habitat for Humanity was honored to be nominated for the 2015 Quality of Life Award. Tom is not only our Treasurer he also works on the building of our new homes and can be found most Friday's helping at the ReStore. He is retired from The Energy Co-Op but also has his own consulting business as an engineer. Some say he is worst "retired" person they know. He and is wife Winnis live in Mount Vernon and have 2 grown children and are expecting their first grandchild next month!

Mike Flora is the greatest ReStore manager any affiliate could have. He and Minnie Clifton run the store and make it look effortless. His wife Patty is a retired teacher and we are grateful to her for letting us have her husband more than she probably ever thought. Thank you Patty!!

    Dear HFH,

For us being a HFH family has meant a new beginning. Being able to give our kids a home and room to play and grow has been the best. Walking in the front door remembering how much work pride and love went into building our home with help from people who were strangers at the beginning but ended up like a real family. They weren't just random people they actually care about the homes they build and the people who live in them. Being a habitat for humanity partner family isn't just a group or club it's a family that has truly changed our lives.
We love all of you guys!

Dear Habitat for Humanity of Knox County,

You have made my family's dream become a reality by choosing my family as the 2013 partner family. In the past, I have made decisions that weren't always good decisions, but filling out the application for Habitat was the best decision I ever made. It's a wonderful opportunity to be a huge part of building our home. My children have been a huge part of this build, I couldn't have done this build without my 16-year old and my 13-year old. They have put in countless hours while I am at work to make our new home a success. I feel this is giving the boys a sense of responsibility and is teaching them to make good choices and good decisions. I also feel that this is teaching the boys that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. We cant wait each week to see new progress unfold as the build comes together and starts looking like a house. It has been a truly wonderful experience so far and, not only are we going to have a new home, but we also have gained new family.
