Ramp Up Knox County

Habitat for Humanity of Knox County is working to improve the lives of those with mobility challenges by offering safe and affordable ramps to homeowners with limited income. Something as simple as a ramp can make it possible for someone to go to doctor’s appointments, attend church, run errands, visit friends and relatives, and have a safe way to enter and exit their home.

Program Qualifications

Be a resident of Knox County.

Meet the program’s income guidelines.

Be over 65 years of age OR have a medical condition that a ramp would be beneficial.

Own their home and be insured.

Agree to a 0% interest, 1-3 year loan for the building of their ramp.

Program Application

Applications for this program are currently being accepted.

Applicants that pass the initial screening will be contacted to schedule a home visit to assess the ramp need and placement.

Ramp Recipients

Ramps are built in partnership with the recipient family and Habitat volunteers.

Ramps are built to ADA standards.

Recipients pay for the costs of the building materials with a 0% interest loan. The funds are then used to cover the costs of the next ramp we build.
